Meel ("we", "us", "our") is a Software-as-a-Service platform for mosque and mahallu management, operated by Adil Oravingal, located at VIT University Chennai, Kilambakkam–Vandalur Rd, Chennai, Tamil Nadu – 600127, India.

2. Information We Collect

From mosque administrators (account holders):

• Name, email address, and phone number
• Mosque or organisation name and location
• Billing and payment information (processed by Razorpay)

Data entered by mosque administrators about their community:

• Household details: house number, owner name, address, phone number
• Family member details: name, date of birth, occupation, blood group
• Fee payment and donation records
• Fundraiser participation records

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Meel platform
• To process subscription billing and generate receipts
• To send service-related communications (billing, updates, support)
• To respond to support requests
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS), protected by row-level security policies and encrypted connections (TLS). Payment transactions are processed by Razorpay and are subject to their security standards — we do not store card or UPI credentials on our servers.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services:

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Razorpay — payment processing
• Vercel — application hosting

These providers only receive data necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your subscription is active. Upon cancellation or account deletion, your data is retained for 30 days to allow for recovery, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us at support@meelapp.in.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format

8. Cookies

We use only essential session cookies required for authentication. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is intended for use by mosque administrators (adults). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Family member data (including minors) is entered by mosque administrators who are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify account holders by email at least 7 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
